Raptors’ task just got a whole lot tougher

After being in the line-up for the Cavaliers, on Tuesday, at home vs the Raptors

this season’s expected NBA MVP was held out of last night’s game, on the road vs the Bulls, “resting with bumps and bruises” …

Whoever said that life was supposed to be fair, anyways?

———-

With only 4 games left in the regular season schedule for both Toronto and Chicago … and,

* The Raptors holding the tie-breaker

* The Bulls unexpected W last night

* The huge head-to-head tilt on tap for Sunday

it is going to very interesting to see how certain members of the Raptors respond to the challenge now at-hand.

Which team do you think should be installed as the wagering favourite for Sunday's game?

Whatever your specific answer might be to this question, it will say a great deal about what you think of the actual “NBA talent” level for the different individuals with a “?” beside their names.

One Response to “Raptors’ task just got a whole lot tougher”

  1. khandor Says:

As of 1:00 PM ET, on Sunday, the published wagering line for this evening’s game is:

    Chicago -2
    TORONTO +2

    Interestingly poll results, so far:

    7 votes for Chicago [road].
    6 votes for Toronto [home].

If this wagering line remains the same between now and tip-off, it will make for a highly unusual situation:

    i. With the home team being listed as the underdog for what essentially constitutes a do-or-die single game elimination;

ii. Against an opponent with [A] the exact same W-L record, [B] one of the lowest rated team offenses in the league, and [C] a mediocre [now, i.e. without John Salmons and Tyrus Thomas] to good [before, i.e. with John Salmons and Tyrus Thomas] team defense.

As someone who deals with wagering lines each and every day, in the opinion of yours truly …

Toronto SHOULD NOT BE listed as the wagering underdog for this game. :-)
