Flux,
Got it … and, thanks for the heads-up!
Reply message coming back your way … asap.
It’s been a long [but, also, highly productive] day. Active on a lot of different fronts.

Hello
I’ve been looking at your blog and I think it’s very interesting.
I came across with a site with sports’ picks and I thought before I decide to purchase some last minute advice, I would appreciate if anyone out there had any predictions for the seasons to come.
Also, I was wondering if anyone has experience with the following site that offers advice before I go ahead and purchase it:
http://www.vegassportsmasters.com/
Thanks

Matthew,
1. Welcome aboard!
2. Specifically … What sport seasons are you speaking about?
3. How much are you looking to spend for sound advice in this field of activity?

I am specifically looking into the 2008-2009 NFL Season. I have put aside about $5K for this year’s season and I was looking for some online advice and came across the Vegas Sports Masters site. However, I have never heard of it and I was wondering if anyone had had experience with them, or are familiar with the handicappers that contribute to the site.
Thanks

Matthew,
1. I have not had personal dealings with that specific web site.
2. If your available capitol is @ $5K then:
* How much are they proposing you pay them for the service they provide?
* How much are you prepared to spend in return for their service?
* What was their performance like last season according to an independently monitored service like the Free Sports Monitor [FSM]?
3. Are you aware that I provide this service for those interested in the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL sport seasons?

What happened to this guy?

Brain,
What happened to what guy?

That was a horrible top rated prediction for the Ravens. I called the Bengals.

DR,
Welcome aboard!
1. Turns out that Baltimore [-9] yesterday was a brutal “Top Rated” selection from the list of 5 Free Picks in the NFL which I released. Thus far, this season, those picks are not doing well with an overall mark of 11-14. The good news is, however, that the NFL season is a long one with 12 more weeks of regular season action on tap and then several weeks of games leading to the Super Bowl.
2. What was even worse yesterday were the two Game Of The Week selections that I released for my clients, both of which were paid losers:
San Francisco 49ers -2.5
Tennessee Titans +3.5
by a wide margin.
The good news is, however … that, given my history of performance in the NFL over the last 25 years, when there’s a difficult stretch where expected outcomes are coming up empty in a run of games, it can only mean one thing is waiting right around the corner, i.e. an opposite good stretch of games.
3. Watching the results of yesterday’s NFL action was relatively easy to stomach once I heard about the situation with Coach Zimmer’s wife passing away earlier in the week.
End the end the right teams win the games … because The Ball Don’t Lie.
4. Today’s slate of games in the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL looks to be of a first-class variety when it comes to turning a profit.
My full slate of releases will be up for review shortly.
—————————————
PS. Winning and losing specific games simply goes with the territory in this field of endeavour.

I meant what happened to you all summer… belated welcome back.
October 13th, 2009 at 10:53 am
Brain,
I took an extended trip for a good part of the summer. “All work and no play” is seldom a recipe for good health. I left a message here for interested parties, letting them know what would be happening until my return, in August. Then, when I returned, so did the blog entries.
Thanks for the “welcome back”.

Khandor-
Seems you missed quite a bit this week.
People solicite your advice?
HaHaHa.

The fact is …
When you operate a reputable service, a combination of “hits and misses” is part of the business.
The only services that never have misses are the ones you SHOULD stay away from … least a fool and his/her money soon be parted.

That’s right.
Shocking, eh?
A long-standing record of accuracy, relative to others in the business, tends to generate that sort of response from those interested in making a profit from the games that people play.

I really wish I made a bet on the super bowl. Pretty much everyone I know thought the colts were going to take it, but brees is insanely accurate. This reminds me of the Giants playing the Patriots… perfect record then they lose the big show.
